A Pesticide-Free World with Camilla Fayed

What if the future of food didn’t rely on chemicals but on the rich, vibrant soil of biodynamic farming? Camilla Fayed, the visionary behind London’s acclaimed Farmacy Kitchen, joins Harvest Series host Rose Claverie to discuss how she’s revolutionizing plant-based dining with her chemical-free, nutrient-rich produce. From her thriving Kent plot to her thoughts on scaling sustainable agriculture, Camilla offers a fresh perspective on how we can nourish ourselves and the planet. Tune in to find out how one woman’s commitment to purity and health could reshape our approach to food.

[16:20] - Camilla answers about the scalability of growing food without chemicals.

[17:41] - Camilla talks about Vananda Shiva, the author of Soil, not Oil

[18:47] - What would she ask the British Prime minister?

[19:50] - Can everybody afford organic food?

[23:20] - Camilla and her culinary and business heritage, her diet, and why she is not eating meat or fish.

[27:10] - Harvest of the Day: if something could be changed easily and would make the world a better place, what would she choose?

Camilla and Perry were very proud to tell me some figures about the summer 2022's harvest on their acre plot, from May to August. Camilla says she could "feed a small town" : Cucumbers 168,5kg, kale: 330,4kg, lettuce: 725 heads, strawberries: 58,6kg,  tomatoes: 322,2kg.

Camilla's book: Farmacy Kitchen Cookbook: Plant-Based recipes for a conscious way of life.

Camilla is referring to Vandana Shiva, the Indian author of Soil, not Oil. Vandana Shiva inspired Camilla by founding the infrastructures for natural farming ways and trying to explain how it is scalable, even if contested by some economists. She is a food sovereignty advocate, ecofeminist, anti-globalisation and anti-GMO author of more than 20 books. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vandana_Shiva

In two weeks, we will release Idriss Aberkane's interview made in Kaplankaya, about education, and how to stimulate the pupils' brains through games, and even video games! We'll also talk about Artificial Intelligence, one of Idriss' favourite topics. Don't miss the episode!
